The Story Continues...
First, I would like to welcome any and all readers to my Substack. I will try and publish something every couple of days and see if the interest is there. If it is, I will write a daily piece and see where this takes me.
A little background in case you don’t know who I am and wonder why I think I might have something interesting or valuable to say.
Born and raised on Long Island, NY, went to school down south at the University of Tennessee and obtained a degree in Forestry. I was a decent student but I graduated at a very tough time for the Forestry industry and could not get a job anywhere so I did what all my friends did and got a job on Wall Street. Several people I went to high school with ended up on the New York Stock Exchange trading floor and were doing very well for themselves so I figured, what the Hell, I am no dumber than them and I gave it a shot.
I worked on the floor for 38 great years and could not have asked for a better career. It was exciting, stressful, rewarding and fun. I made dozens of very good friends and loved every minute of it.
Around 1995 I was asked by the Exchange if I wanted to do some television spots for the different networks that were starting to build a presence down there and I said Yes! I eventually became one of CNBC’s market contributors which I continued to do until I left the trading floor in 2018. Another great experience with great people amnd I can’t thank them enough for what they did for me over the years.
Nowadays, I sit on a couple of advisory boards at the University of Tennessee and have just signed on as a member of the Meridian Wealth Management Advisory Board. I also am developing a podcast which will be done in conjunction with this Substack.
In the past, I have written articles for my website and received some pretty positive responses along with some negative commentary as well. I would like to do that here. Take the good with the bad and see if I can build a following knowing that the reader will always have input. I am new to this platform so I ask for tolerance as I work my way through this.
Being new, I will ask for comments and hopefully I will integrate the good suggestions and respect the bad and build something everyone will look forward to reading everyday.
