The NFL Draft Was a Disappointment
I mean really, the Raiders couldn’t have traded for some draft picks? UGH.
Oh wait, there was an election yesterday and here I am grumbling about the Raiders. I lose focus a lot lately. Am I becoming Joe Biden?
I am here to say, no, I am not.
With Donald Trump’s victory last night (this morning) there really is so much to talk about. I have a thousand ideas floating in my head and hopefully my focus will return and I can write something intelligent and meaningful.
First, let’s dispense with every headline that has been written and will be written.
The race was close going into election day, so saying that Donald Trump had a “Stunning Victory” or “Trump wins in an upset” is downright stupid. The race was too close to call and maybe the margin of victory was a surprise but none of this was “Stunning”.
The second thing that the Washington Post and the New York Times should really stop saying that Trump is the first convicted felon to be elected to the Presidency. While it is factually true, history will look back on that part of the picture and judge him differently. The trials (NYC and elsewhere) were all shams. They were anything but fair. The juries were not his peers, they were hand selected Democrats that would have convicted Trump for jaywalking while he was sitting in his limo.
Thankfully, the other trials will either go away or be quickly adjudicated. The special prosecutor Smith and that Socialist Judge he was working with will disappear and that part of the Trump saga will disappear with them.
I find it interesting that Democrats far and wide are fearful of Trump retribution once he gets in power. Should President elect Trump decide to pursue the people he feels were responsible for the 2 years of Hell he went through, he is actually following in the Democrats playbook.
The hypocrisy of it all is stunning. The Department of Justice treated a former President and current Republican candidate like El Chapo and they thought that that was ok? It made us look like Bolivia and the media danced around this like the Salem witch hunts. Yet, they fear Donald Trump’s wrath? I hope the new administration cleans house and gets this country back from progressive politicians who want to basically to destroy America.
Speaking of Socialists, I see that AOC and Bernie Sanders were reelected. How is that even possible. Vermont I can see. They love the old curmudgeon up there and he actually is a smart guy with a solid mind that just believes that the government should control everything from the air we breath to where we can lay our heads at night. The government does everything so well that we can all trust them. He really should fade away.
AOC on the other hand is a Socialist Democrat (I Think) who has not supported one piece of legislation with her name attached. She reminds me a lot of Kamala Harris but she is prettier. Her agenda, if she even has one, will continue to sit in the inbox of every member of the House, unread. How her district keeps reelecting her is one of the great political mysteries of our time. Sort of like, how did Beto O’Rourke make it out of high school without getting punched out for being so annoying?
I will leave those dark mysteries to someone who actually cares.
Again, I digress.
Back to Trump’s election. I firmly believe that if the Democrats had put up a better, stronger candidate the race may have ended much differently. I am not saying that VP Harris was totally unlikable like Hillary Clinton, but she did not add anything to anything in her campaign. She interviewed poorly, she continued to allow a connection to the Biden administration instead of her distancing herself from that failure. I mean she went on “The View” and said that she wouldn’t do anything to change how the Biden/Harris administration performed. Admitting you think that the worst administration in decades did a good job is basically shoveling dirt on your own coffin. I get loyalty but you can see how unpopular your boss was and you wanna be just like him?
The predominant fact though I think was that she was totally useless as a Vice President and I do understand that Vice Presidents are basically just mannequins but when you have a President that has lost his shit two or three years ago, you should have stood up and taken more responsibility. I guess the handlers in the party didn’t like the optics of something like that but at the end of the day Joe Biden embarrassed himself (unknowingly) and some of that could have been prevented if Kamala went front and center.
Don’t lambaste me, I do know politics doesn’t work like that. Doing something to choke off Biden’s Presidency is worse than letting him trip up the steps of Air Force One.
The Liberals and Progressives are going to be losing a lot of sleep over the next few years because with the majority in the Senate, possible majority in the House and Donald Trump leading the way the country will be profoundly different. One thing that I said back in 2016 and 2020, with Trump in charge, the judiciary in this country will slowly change. The appointments of Federal judges will no longer be these soft on crime, constitutional idiots and will reflect more of what the country wants and needs. Judges that will protect the rights of the victims and bring the hammer down on the guilty. The Supreme court may move even further right but even with the Conservative majority presently, I think they have done a pretty good job so far. One more conservative justive is not going to make or break anything.
I literally still have a million issues rolling around my head and my last thought for now is the apoplectic reaction to the Trump victory by a multitude of people is stupid.
Get a freaking grip will you now. When Biden was elected, Trump and his minions felt they were robbed and they bitched about it for months and all I had to say to them is “You lost, get over yourself”. The Democrats may have used chicanery but it was nothing that Republicans haven’t used in the past and the fact is, he lost by 8 million votes, give or take.
Harris lost by the popular vote and the Electoral College vote. She is toast. The Democrats need to get over themselves and realize that while Trump is not their preferred choice, he is what you have.
I am sure there is a massive amount of voters who hated Donald Trump but felt he was a better choice for our country than Kamala Harris and they voted the candidate that would best lead us into the future. Harris was not that candidate.
Sure political scientist will ruminate about this election and come up with reasons Trump won and why Kamala Harris could not excite a population that hated Donald Trump. I have said it dozens of times, if the Democrats had put up a solid candidate, things would have ended differently but they anointed Harris and that was the biggest mistake they have made in decades.
Trump won, I don’t like him, but I accept that he won. They should too.

I agree with everything BUT ! It was a stunning victory considering if he was likeable it would have been a Landsde, Also he went aginst the Democratic machine and won !! Good enough for me for a
stunning victory!!
