The Blame Game
It really doesn’t take a Harvard MBA to figure out what’s going here. We have an administration that points a finger at everyone except themselves and they think that the majority of Americans agree. We have a Treasury Secretary that has fallen right in line with the administration, late admitting inflation is a problem, good at blaming circumstances beyond the administrations control.
What’s clear is that the Biden Administration and the Democratic majority have failed the people of this country. There is no doubt now.
We can look at the failures and put the blame squarely where it belongs and that may feel good because most Americans don’t think much of the President or his leadership committee. It’s easy to look back and see failures and missteps. I have written about them for months. The disaster is done.
What can be done to get us out of this mess now? What will quell inflation and not sink this country into a deep recession? How can the administration salvage what is left of this President’s term and help potentially salvage the Democratic party as well?
Unfortunately, for the Democrats, I think they have dug themselves such a deep hole that no one can rescue them. The bench is not deep and ideologies are moving further and further from what most Americans feel comfortable with. Their overreaction to events around this country have given the Democratic party more rope to hang themselves with.
The tone deafness of the party was truly evident when Barack Obama tweeted these lines, “As we grieve the children of Uvalde today, we should take time to recognize that two years have passed since the murder of George Floyd under the knee of a police officer. His killing stays with us all to this day, especially those who loved him.”
Are you freaking kidding me? How on Earth can anyone, let alone the former President” say something so mind numbingly stupid at a time like that? The true tragedy and horror of all those children being brutally murdered being trivialized so that we must remember the horror and tragedy of George Floyd brutally murdered to me is the epitome of a tone deaf response.
That is the party of the people?
Anyway, the Democratic party is in control and when the country is one event away from utter catastrophe, they have to shoulder the responsibility.
The leaders have to take the heat when things go wrong so they can share the glory when things go right.
Not sure who, if anyone, ever said that but it is time to take the blame, figure out a way out of the mess that they are almost completely responsible for and create a healthy growing society.
I don’t believe that there is anyone in the Democratic party that is up to that task. They are buried in failed ideas and ideology and no one is strong enough to risk his or her career by going against this losing tide.
This utter lack of taking responsibility is what will sink the Democrats in November. It may not make things easier for the average American but admitting you completely EFFed up would show Americans that politicians are humans too. That touch of humility might save them from the embarrassment to come but you know as well as I do, admitting you are wrong is not part of any politicians creed.
Like everyone else, I have easily identified the problems but like everyone else, I don’t have a solution. Or do I?
Let’s go down the list of the administrations screw ups.
The border crisis. Simple. Look at Donald Trumps play book. Tweak it a touch and then run with it. We do need immigrants in this country, we just don’t need two million undocumented immigrants. Compromises can be made and the solution just takes a willingness to admit you were wrong and go solve it.
Afghanistan. Not much you can do here but lick your wounds, admit your approach sucked and be prepared for what is sure to come from this boondoggle. More terrorism, more violence against women, more of the same from a country that many have fought in and died in and at the end of the day, wasn’t worth the effort.
Inflation. You messed this up royally and yes, the administration is 99% responsible for the root causes and the continued inflation with poor judgement policies. The solution will be painful and will take a lot more time than the present administration has. This will be the undoing of the Democratic majority in November and they only have themselves to blame.
Justice and crime. First thing that needs to be done is to vilify the criminals and not the victims. I don’t think that returning to stop and frisk is the answer but I do think that creating some social cause dynamic when it comes to crime is wrong. Criminals commit crimes. Criminals should go to jail for committing a crime. I don’t care that some criminal had a bad upbringing. No father, abusive mother, I don’t care. Criminals have choices. They choose to commit crimes. They could choose to get a job and earn an honest living, they choose to commit crimes and impact innocent peoples lives. They should be held accountable and that accountability is serving time in jail for committing a crime. Stop being soft on criminals, they don’t vote and they don’t add anything to society except pain, suffering and loss.
Those are just a few things that the administration and the Democratic Party have done to crack the foundation of democracy and capitalism in this country. I don’t believe in my heart that they want to destroy America but I do believe they have a different vision of the America I know and love.
Again, the first step in getting this country back on track and healing is to admit you blew it on so many levels and then work with the people on the other side to fix the systems that need fixing. That will take someone other than Chuck Schumer or Nancy Pelosi to take the lead and forge some sort of mutual understanding between the two sides and create a framework to build on.
Honestly though, this will never happen and that is a shame because this experiment called “America” held such great promise and after 200+ years it may be coming undun.
Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
