Right or Wrong
Most of my readers will not believe this but there are three sides to every story. Yours, mine and the truth.
We have suffered through this scenario for as long as I can remember. The liberal media will cover a story one way. Right wing media will cover it another way and no one seems to stand up for the truth.
I, sadly, listen to both sides and then come up with some version of the facts.
Some facts that are very apparent and no one can dispute them are:
President Joe Biden is regressing. He never was the sharpest tool in the shed but he is now to the point where his handlers try and roll him out on when they think he is coherent. Yet, he still comes across as a doddering old man. And he wants to run for reelection. HMMM
Vice President Kamala Harris may be the most insincere human being ever put in any office, anywhere. She has done nothing while in office except give speeches where she tries to connect to her audience with lame jokes, inappropriately timed smiles and a whole lot of nothing. That person is a heartbeat away from the Presidency.
Donald Trump may believe he is the savior of the Nation and at the very least, the savior of the Republican party, he is not. He is the most divisive person in American history. The people that love him are a significant component of the electorate but not significant enough. The Republicans that want to move on from him and bring in new, younger blood are also a significant component of the electorate. Therein lies a major problem for the Republican party. This division may allow the Democrats the room they need to run whomever they want and have a very good chance of winning.
One last opinion presented as fact: Pete Buttigieg may be the worst Cabinet member in history. He had zero experience in transportation and his only claim to fame is that he is gay. He filled some quota the Biden administration needed to fill and no thought was given to his actual qualifications.
Surely there were hundreds of candidates for that job that were more qualified, why weren’t they picked? Right or wrong, you have to look at the facts on this one.
What has really got my gonads is that Buttigieg was appointed to a job he was not qualified for and he has to have known that. In admitting to himself and his President that he was out of his league he should have done several things: Hired experience transportation people. Set up an advisory board (he did this but they have only met once in person) and take a crash course about the job, responsibilities and challenges. Prepare yourself for the worst and rely on experienced people to help you through it. He did none of that. He hid in some hole while this country went through a BS supply chain situation. He hid in that same hole when the disaster in East Palestine happened. He is acting like some local union guy with a no show job.
He should have been let go a year and a half ago but thats not how this administration handles certain segments of the population.
Yes, I do know that I am seemingly obsessed with my dislike for Pete Buttigieg. I have no issue with that. How can I not take issue with a man who has pretty much ignored one of the biggest environmental disasters in this country since the Love Canal? When he does take issue, he does a Joe Biden and blames Donald Trump for the disaster. Hmm. No one is blaming Buttigieg for this situation. The infrastructure around this country has been crumbling for decades. What people are blaming him for is his horrid response to the disaster. That is unforgivable.
I will give the Buttigieg thing a rest, for now.
I don’t live there but I bet a lot of Chicagoans are now breathing a little easier, Lori Lightfoot is out. This woman was clearly one of the worst things to happen to Chicago in years. A super left wing mayor is a disaster waiting to happen in any city, just look at DiBlasio and New York, but just look at what happened to Chicago. From what I remember, Chicago was a clean, functioning city and any time I have gone there, I felt safe and loved it. Thats not how Chicago is perceived anymore. Murder rate is up, crime is up, city was not as clean as it used to be. Even though a mayor is not supposed to have that kind of control in any one city, they always seem to have an outsized impact on policies. Lightfoot was no different. A liberal’s liberal, she felt more for the incarcerated than the victims. She never took a hardline towards the people that were destroying the fabric of her city, like DiBlasio and other Democratic mayors in large cities. Crime was caused by the lack of social services and those social services will turn the tide on crime. That is some liberal BS that needs to be ditched. Criminals should be put in jail. They commit a felony, there should be some bail set. They violate parole, they go back in.
My one liberal caveat is that jail conditions should be improved. This isn’t 18th century Spain.
Maybe with Lightfoot’s defeat some sanity will return to these big cities. I just saw a headline in the NYTimes online, '“Even in liberal San Fransisco residents are getting fed up”. About time.
