As the results came in last night, it is clear that the Democratic party is riding the Bidenomics wave. It will be unstoppable and given that former President Trump is facing multiple possible convictions, the GOP has no chance at gaining anything in 2024.
There, that’s done.
No need to talk politics anymore because the its the Democrats all the way. Regain the House, retain the White House and we will be right back to where we started after Donald Trump lost the last election.
If you read the NYTimes this morning it’s almost like they are gloating that Democrats did so well in an off year election. I mean, look, Democrat Milford Toast won the District attorneys race in Johnson County (population 3,430). I’m kidding but my point is simple. The Democrats won what they were supposed to win. Yes, they turned the Virginia Senate but I am not surprised with that result. Even though they have a Republican Governor (possible Presidential candidate 2028?) Virginia has been leaning Blue for a while.
This election was more about local control and there were very surprises. Does this actually foreshadow the 2024 election? What can you actually take away from this election?
Two very simple questions with two very simple answers.
No, it foreshadows nothing. Joe Biden is still the absolute worst Presidential candidate in American history. He is losing his mental acuity quickly and even though he will do very little campaigning next year, it still can take a toll on a person no matter how involved you get. I am still in the firm belief that the core of the Democratic Party would like to see a different candidate but they most likely won’t.
That is simple to explain and it has nothing to do with the far left Progressives it has to do with the puppeteers who control Joe Biden. He is very easily manipulated and managed. Another younger, more vibrant candidate might not be as easily managed. It’s just that not one potentially strong candidate wants to take on his own party at this time and all of the potential candidates are young enough to know that they will get a shot in 2028. The problem with this thinking is that they are risking the White House in 2024.
Should Donald Trump weave his way around all of the indictments and lawsuits and end up making it to election day, he will win. There is no question in my mind. The Democrats can gloat all they want about this “Reinvigoration of the Democratic base”, Joe Biden is your choice for President? Even a lot of Democrats dislike the guy and no matter how much he talks about the 14 million jobs that were created during his administration, the truth is a different matter.
Next the simple question: Are you better off now than you were when Joe Biden took office? Do some deep thinking about that question and then decide.
If that question were asked in 2020, because of Covid a lot of people would go and say no, and Donald Trump lost. The only exception to this thought process was the second term of Obama. No one was doing better at the end of his first term and yet the guy got reelected. At the end of eight years, people would still say no and Hillary lost to Trump.
This is a very tricky question going into next year because I do think people are doing better than they were when Biden took office. He came in at one of the lowest points in American history and he did navigate out of the pandemic and the economy and health of the country has improved in a lot of ways over the three plus years.
With that being said I still can not give Joe Biden and his administration the credit they seem to think they deserve. He has completely messed up the border and if you think that is no small issue, wait till next year. He blew the withdrawal out of Afghanistan and you are seeing the results of that all over the World.
I firmly believe that anyone who was in office would have navigated out of Covid with similar results. If you will recall, prior to the outbreak of Covid in 2020, the economy was running at almost full capacity, with low unemployment and no inflation. Say what you will about Donald Trump, his economic policies worked like a charm. In addition, our border was safe and our adversaries would not dare invade a former satellite state.
Biden did what he needed to do at the beginning of Covid and unfortunately that success allowed him to think that he should do it a few more times and oops, it caused an inflationary spiral that we are still trying to undo.
I am sorry, once I get on my anti-Biden tirade I can’t help myself.
The point I am trying to make is that yesterday may have give the leaders of the Democratic Party a big sigh of relief and it will give them the confidence going into next year.
The only problem with that is they are going to nominate Joe Biden.
Thanks Rick. The fastest way to get anywhere is a straight line.
Thanks for coming to the point and not beating around the bush, Amen!
