It Isn't a Pretty Picture
The political process in this country has never been clean or easy. Politics is a dirty game and anyone who enters that game knows he will end up stained and battered. Whatever self respect a person may have will be lost in the scuffles. It’s a sad testament to the times we live in.
I still believe most people go into politics with the belief that they can make a difference. In a small way at first and as their careers move on, they believe that they can change things on a much grander scale. I am naive, I know, but if I think otherwise I may become one of those myopic people who just see the bad in everything.
My eyes are definitely open but I still have hope.
However, it’s not looking good.
Looking at the leadership in this country I can see how people might lose hope.
Republicans come out of a clown car at the circus and want us to believe they are working for the betterment of this country.
Democrats have policies that in no way shape or form are better for this country. They act like their survival is the only instinct worthy of work.
Our President is a feeble puppet and his mental acuity is decreasing right before our eyes.
The former president has been indicted in multiple jurisdictions and he leads everyone in the polls.
What in God’s name is going on in this country?
What’s even scarier at this point is that the potential successors in this political landscape look better and better every day.
The Democrats do have viable options to run for President in 2024. I don’t particularly like any of them but they would be good candidates. Candidates to carry on the Democratic mandates and at the very least, explain why open borders and bail reform are good for the country. Why higher crime, lower incarceration rates and oh yeah, reparations of hundreds of billions of dollars will help this generation heal from something 90% of the high school students in this country know nothing about. That’s what good strong Democratic leaders can do.
The Republican Party, bless it’s coal burning heart also has some strong candidates other than the former President. They actually can bring a couple of moderates onto the podium and all the remaining candidates except for that tub of lard from New Jersey would be solid choices to repair the damage that our current President has done domestically and internationally.
Thing is, not one of these “better choices” has a shot this time around. Whatever hole the United States has fallen into, it will be another five years before we can start getting out of it. No matter who wins in 2024, we will be in for another four years of mayhem and misadventure.
I think everyone will agree that the chances of Joe Biden finishing another term are slim. He is passing into another dimension and there will be a point where not even the master magicians in the White House can pull him back. That means that he will eventually be removed from office or step down and Kamala Harris will be President.
I have nothing against a woman as President. I think it’s long overdue and there are thousands of women that could fill the role proudly and successfully. Just not Kamala Harris. She has proven that she is absolutely useless in a useless job. Anything she has been asked to do she has failed at. The political powers know this and they also know that at some point she will be President. They screwed up, big time.
On the Republican side. having Donald Trump back in the White House may appease a certain segment of the population but most Americans have no love lost for the man. I don’t think it’s his political beliefs or his policies both foreign and domestic. I think it’s him. The man that he is what people despise. He is that jerk everyone hated in High School because he was such an A-Hole. He is a liar and a cheat and he really is a despicable human being but he also has something that very few Presidents have ever had, his own mind. He goes about his business the way he wants to and collateral damage be damned. He can not be manipulated and that’s why the political powers that be hate him. Let’s put this out there about Donald Trump, the Chinese do not want him back in the White House. They fear him in ways the Russians feared Ronald Reagan. He has a backbone and he has shown time and time again that his backbone is scary to our opponents around the World.
Riddle me this batgirl: Would Putin have invaded Ukraine? Would the Chinese have made eminent plans to invade Taiwan? If Donald Trump was in the White House.
Don’t think so.
Our adversaries around the World always take stock in the leadership in the United States. Vladimir Putin, that bare-chested cowboy, knew that the resolve of the United States might have been different if Trump were in office.
Same with leader for Life, Jinping. Although I do think that the Chinese have eyes on Taiwan regardless of who sits in the Oval Office. That is yet to be seen.
In defense of Joe Biden, I think he has done a decent job navigating around today’s hotspots. What more or less could he have done with Ukraine? The only thing different might be not sending one of the most corrupt countries in the World billions and billions of dollars of aide (but hey, we sent 6 billion to the Iranians, so we really are stupid sometimes). Also, backing Israel was a no brainer. Our biggest ally(next to Britain) deserves our support. Biden has not failed Israel so far but this is the MidEast and things can get dicey in a hurry over there. That may eventually be the true test of his leadership.
The truth about politics is simple: Are you better off now than before this administration got into office? It all depends who you ask and like everything else in this country, we will be divided when answering this question as well.
Looking at the big picture as far as politics is concerned, I think they have pretty much failed us. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to fix this problem. I think the Kool Aide that is served in Washington eventually takes it’s toll on everyone and we just have to live with it and hope no one pushes the wrong button in the White house.
