Immigration Man
The way I see it, you could make a case going into the mid-term elections for the economy. I think it is ok but will start getting worse as the next few months play out. However, the other side, whoever they are, could make a case for the economy because of the jobs picture. Let’s agree to disagree right now, I am pretty sure I will be right in January.
The case for the left on crime is much weaker and that probably will help the Republicans take back the House. Democratic policies across the country regarding crime have failed and since people generally vote with an eye on their wallets and their other eye on their back door, let’s give the Republicans this one.
The third issue is immigration, legal or otherwise, and the White House and the Democratic party have failed miserably on that count.
You can’t disregard the statistics and you can’t disregard the fact that this influx of illegal aliens has overwhelmed pretty much every system in place to help. That is a failure in human terms and obviously in financial terms. We just don’t have the ability to absorb this many people in this short a time. This is not 1885. This is not Ellis Island and handing people new names based on their occupation or the village they come from. This influx is unprecedented and while I am sheltered from a lot of it. I still see the results on the nightly news and in most media in general.
As I have repeatedly have said, I am not against immigration at all. I think the diversity of this country is directly related to the various periods of great migrations and that is what makes this country great. What I am against is an open border with absolutely no plan.
There is no plan, there has never been a plan and it appears that there will be no plan in the future. Is this politically motivated? I think it is. Remember, I don’t ascribe to all of these internet conspiracy theories but I do believe that there is a political reason for this massive influx and it seems pretty simple. Immigrants will vote for the party that let them emigrate. That’s it in a nutshell.
It will never be proven but I will stick with my assertion, The Biden Administration opened the borders to change Texas and Arizona to blue states and solidify the Democrats hold on power.
This is going to backfire and it is already. For several reasons:
First, the law of unintended consequences has taken hold. I don’t think the Biden Administration expected the influx that we have gotten. Shows how ignorant this group is. Given the opportunity to live in a free country where the government takes care of you and offers you everything from free food to free housing, who wouldn’t jump at leaving their homeland. I don’t blame any of these people for wanting to leave their impoverished nation and try making something of myself in a land of unlimited opportunities. I don’t blame them at all.
Second, Another unintended consequence is the transport of drugs through these emigrating people. This, to me, shows the true stupidity of the Biden Administration and yet the media never fully blames the Administration for it. You have Chuck Schumer going on about some nonsense saying the administration is going to spend 300 million dollars plus to help with the border situation. Yet, he, like every other Democrat, always fail to mention the Fentanyl crisis in this country and how this drug (along with others) is being brought in via these immigrants. What gets me is that the administration knows that the Mexican drug cartels are intimately involved in moving these people across the border. Did they think it was just a lift, like an Uber ride to El Paso? They had to know that these people were going to be used as mules. If they didn’t, it just shows the level of the stupidity of these people. Now we have American kids dying at an alarming rate from this situation and where is CBS News or the NYTimes on this?
Third, The administration showed zero concern for the whole situation and by appointing Kamala Harris to spearhead it, proves it. The administration exposed themselves openly by appointing this woman. She has done zero, nothing, as far as investigate, look into, try to come up with a workable solution. The administration exposed her for who she is, a useless tool. Maybe that was the point.
Fourth, I hate to bring Donald Trump into this discussion but it seems odd that during his administration, there really wasn’t a major problem with immigration on our Southern borders. Sure, the press harped on squalid conditions and the fact that there were hundreds of thousands of people in Mexico trying to get into the US. The press never mentioned that the protocols that were place were the same ones when Obama was President. The squalid conditions were reprehensible for sure but over time that was corrected and people who could legally migrate to this country did. The others were sent back.
Again, I am not directly impacted by this migration crisis but I have a lot of friends that are and for what it’s worth, I do think that this is the biggest failure of the Biden Administration. They opened the gates and were not prepared for the results. They stuck to their guns, never admitted it was a growing problem and in true political style, never admitted they screwed up. No one in the party has said boo about this crisis. They have got together like lemmings and kept their mouths shut.
This should be the political story on November 8th.
