I Can Not Help Myself
I try, I really do. I try to give President Biden the benefit of the doubt. I try to give him a chance to show me and the country he is not completely gone. Not lost to the fog of dementia, but he just can’t help himself.
It goes without saying that I think President Biden may be the worst President in my lifetime. He is a puppet for the Democratic Party and that party is being run by a faction that is veering so far to the left it may never come back. Which is pretty surprising because if you look at the last few Presidents, I think it might be hard to say that any of them were true puppets.
Trump was his own council, for better or worse. Obama should have been a puppet of someones but his huge ego would not allow it and he pretty much got nothing done (other than Obamacare, tell me what he did). Bush may have been Chaney’s puppet but for the most part he was his own council as well. Bill Clinton? You can hate Bill all you want, he was no puppet. He did listen and he did negotiate and some will say that he was a piece of the machine but I still think he was in charge and he listened but didn’t bow down to anyone.
Joe Biden is a puppet and an embarrassing one at that.
There is a very good reason why Joe Biden rarely speaks to the press. He rarely makes appearances and if you check his calendar, it doesn’t seem he does much at all.
That reason is his mental acuity is not very good and it is beyond embarrassing now.
On Monday, our nation was shocked again with another mass shooting of innocent schoolchildren. There really are no words that can adequately describe this devastating loss of life. The whole Nation will mourn this horrific event and what we need from our leader is thoughtful words. Heartfelt sympathy and compassion for the families of the victims.
To come before a group of small business leaders an hour after the news broke and joke about being Jill Biden’s husband and that he wanted ice cream or some such stupidity just shows he is not in touch with reality. He is a horrible excuse for a leader and this particular gaffe strikes at the core of his mental state.
This is just another example of the precarious state of Joe Biden’s mind. How they can say that he has all his faculties is beyond me. This display was disgusting and that is our President.
No Democrat, progressive or otherwise can explain that away.
Let me throw this out there and I would like to hear anyone deny this: If Donald Trump said something like that, the list of verbal assassins would be long and vocal. President Biden says it, it is not covered. Period. Never happened. Ignoring his lack of mental awareness is how they keep the masses uninformed and still believing that President Joe Biden is in control.
A good friend of mine said that he believes that the reason that the Democrats don’t turn on him is because “The Devil You Know”. Joe leaves, Kamala takes over and she has even less situational awareness than President Biden.
If you recall when President Biden was elected, I wished him success. His success would be our country’s success and how could you ever wish that a President would fail. I didn’t like him but he did win and I am always about giving someone a shot to succeed but as time went on it became apparent that he was not a good President. From writing trillion dollar checks we could never afford to his bumbling and stumbling, he proved he is not capable of being the President we all needed at the time.
This country started dividing years back. Had to be after Herbert Walker and probably during George W’s second term. An unpopular war in Iraq and more involvement in Afghanistan created a visible divide in the country and I think that Obama made it infinitely worse just by being Obama. Got very little done because he never had the skillset of Bill Clinton. His ego was just too big. Trump was like the North pole of a magnet, some particles were repelled, some were attracted. His unfiltered comments just made things worse and worse. Now this.
I believe the mark of a great President is not taking credit for things that work out and taking full responsibility for when things don’t. Trump was guilty of taking full credit for anything that he helped make happen and things he didn’t. He also was very good at pointing fingers at everyone else when things went wrong. Joe Biden does exactly the same thing. He solved the pandemic. He got people back working. He made us the envy of the World again.
Nice try. The only thing that the administration can take credit for is their response to the war in Ukraine. I may be in the minority but I still think the President’s actions were textbook in so far as he really didn’t have a choice. No, I don’t like the fact that we have spent probably closer to 50 billion dollars helping Ukraine fight the Russians. I also know that prior to this invasion, Ukraine was considered one of the most corrupt democracies on the planet. I also know that after this war is over someone is going to have to foot the bill for rebuilding that country and it won’t be the Russians. The estimates are somewhere between 450- 500 billion dollars and if you think corruption was running rampant prior, wait till you see after. It will be a “Humanitarian crisis of epic proportions” for sure. Mark my words, we will foot that bill as well.
Now I wade into murky waters as far as the president is concerned. Gun control. I have many, many friends that believe any sort of gun control is the next step towards socialism. Take away people’s rights as far as allowing them to own guns is basically a disarming of America. They start with assault weapons, next thing you know it’s handguns with 15 round magazines and then rifles with 12 round magazines and so on. I do see their point for sure. I do believe in our second amendment rights and all that goes with it yet, I still have a hard time reconciling ownership of assault weapons.
Let’s be honest, what does anyone in this country need an assault weapon for? Home protection, Bullsh*t. A shotgun is the best home protection available. You miss with a shotgun, the noise alone will scare an intruder away and you will blow a hole in your wall. You miss with an assault rifle, you could conceivably kill a neighbor. You get off 8 shots in 3 seconds great. Chances are not every bullet will hit the intended target. Shotgun, two pumps and it’s all over. Oh wait, you are worried about the Russians or Chinese running down your street and you need to defend yourself and your family. That’s a good one because if either army is on your street, it’s all over.
I don’t think anyone should have an assault weapon. I do believe anyone with the proper background check should be allowed to own a handgun or a rifle however.
So, this is a very slippery slope for sure. Fear of government overreach is real and I am not dismissing it and I understand why people do not want to give up their right to own one. I just don’t see the need for it to be honest.
Would a full assault weapon ban have prevented this tragedy or any of the hundreds we deal with week after week? I don’t think so. Someone intent on doing something so devious will find a way. A major problem that gets less press because it doesn’t fit the Liberal agenda is the state of mental health in this country. To do what she did in Nashville, plotting and planning and executing, she had to have had some serious mental health issues. That should be the focus of what they look into it. Was it missed? Did her transitioning have anything to do with it? Did she choose this school because it did not have a visible security component? There are a million questions that should be looked into.
All of these inquiries will not bring those six lives back. An assault weapon ban will not bring back any of the victims of mass shootings. Having a mental health system that can recognize potential will not bring anyone back. Will locking schools down prevent this from happening again? The point is we need to cover all of the aspects of what happened and come up with a sensible, workable plan to prevent this from happening again.
Like everyone else, my heart and prayers go out to all the families that have been devastated by this not so random act of violence. There will be peace in heaven for all of the victims and a rotting, burning in Hell for the perpetrator.
