Forgive Me, But I May Be Wrong..
But, with the passing of what looks like a much more restrictive election bill in Texas the Democrats must be rethinking and regretting President Biden’s open borders policy.
I am not much of a conspiracy theorist but if we revisit one of President Biden’s first acts as President (the relaxation of Trump Administration border policies). I think it’s fairly clear what the underlying motivation was. Allowing undocumented aliens into this country with pretty much nothing in place to handle the influx was a veiled attempt at increasing potential Democratic voters throughout Texas and the Southwest. Think about it again, if I was allowed relatively free entry into a country that previously did not want my entry, how would I show my appreciation? Voting for the President that set this ease of access policy in place. Thats how.
Adding two million potential voters, thankful to a lenient administration would most likely keep the Democrats in place for the foreseeable future.
Texans don’t see it that way and just changed the game as far as I am concerned.
The problem with my approach is that I read the legislation twice and just ended up getting lost in it. It appears that there are some restrictions in it that I may not agree with but the bottomline is this: You need to prove you are a Texas resident. You need to vote in the district you live. You will need to do a lot more work to get an absentee ballot. You need to understand the rules to vote, period.
Seems pretty simple and I do know there are a fair number of states that have similar restrictions (bad term, sorry, requirements) and thats ok by me. I firmly believe you should be an American citizen to vote. You need to prove that you are voting in the district where you live. Proving it should not be an issue. So, you don’t have a drivers license. So what? Every State has state ID’s and you can get a voter registration card in more than half the states in this country.
The argument from the left is that these restrictions fall squarely on the backs of low-income residents and I just don’t see how. They are residents in a community just like every one else. They have the ability to get a driver’s license or some other state mandated ID just like everyone else. Why do we have to make excuses for segments of our population? Simple requirements do not restrict anyone. If I am wrong, please explain it to me.
I went off track a little and hopefully I can explain how big a deal this legislation is correctly. Let’s think about it for a second. The bulk of the illegal immigrants stuck at Border Patrol locations are in Texas. With this influx of migrants it is pretty safe to assume that most, if given a chance, will stay in Texas.
Keeping that in mind, is it possible that the Democrats planned this situation knowing that at some point, those relocated would be in Texas and voting in Texas? I think it’s highly probable.
That’s why this legislation is so important and much needed.
I know my reasoning my seem a little convoluted but underneath all the “humanitarian” issues I believe the driving force is survival. Survival of a once noble party that has taken a disastrous quick left turn.
With a toughening of voter requirements in many Red states I wonder, will that lead the government to moving more and more of the undocumented masses to states with less restrictive voter requirements? States that are not solid Blue states?' My gut says yes. Lookout Wisconsin.
