Enough Already
As a loyal reader of this column I am sure you are sensing a rising level of frustration in my writing.
Well, I am.
There are so many things that I am tired of, it may take me four columns to put them all down but I will start with the most obvious:
Donald Trump is no longer President. I know the liberal media just can’t help themselves but let’s be serious here. He has not been President for what, 19 months, yet the media can’t stop reporting on the man. Trump is responsible for everything that has happened in this country for the last six years. All of it bad. There isn’t a day that goes by that CNN or the New York Times doesn’t have some report blasting the former President. Come on already.
Is it the fact that a former President can bring 25 to 30 thousand supporters to a rally in the middle of nowhere Ohio while the sitting President goes to a rally for a candidate in Pennsylvania and attracts 1500 supporters? That why they want to tear this man apart? Is it the fact that he has fanatical supporters who won’t give up the fight about a stolen election?
I get it. To hate Trump is to love the results. Trump sold papers, Trump brought in ratings. Now, you have a mentally fractured president and some of the weakest candidates in history in Mid Term elections and you can’t draw a third of what you drew when Donald Trump was President. Ride the Trump story until America is sick of it. I think that point has been reached.
Enough already with election fraud. Do I think there might have been some shenanigans in some parts of the country? Yes I do, but Trump lost by over eight million votes. He lost. Get over it. Wrap your arms around the coordination it would have taken to commit such a large scale fraud. Do you honestly think that the Democratic party could coordinate such a wide ranging ballot rigging? They can’t figure out what to do with John Futterman, how the Hell are they going to turn the course of history? And the thousands of people involved in this supposed fraud, not one of them has spoken? Come on, get real. Trump lost because his base did not show up for him. I believe that election fraud does happen. In the bayous of Louisiana maybe, but in Philadelphia? Get over it already. Same with those moronic Hillary Clinton supporters that felt she won the election. She didn’t.
Enough already with the division in this country. You have a President that promised healing but has been one of the most divisive in history. His pandering to the far left has created a schism in this country. Historically, this country has leaned more to the center than to either side. People would generally rather work with each other than against each other. It’s a matter of getting along and working together for the common good. When things work towards a positive solution, positive things happen. That isn’t my opinion, that is just a fact. Right now, no one is working towards that common solution. The fractured nature of politics has split up political parties and siloed each group. Groups in silos do not work together. Trust me, I am no socialist but I think we are seeing more and more people cutting off more and more peoples opinions and creating those silos.
I believe that leadership that works together creates an environment where more and more people at least try to understand what people with different opinions are saying. That is not happening.' That is our President’s fault. Blame lands squarely in his lap. I understand there are serious problems in this country. The one thing that you have to remember is that there have always been serious problems in this country and there always will be. It is the nature of society. Solving those problems takes both sides, working together. Right now, we do not have that.
However, to correct and possibly heal some of these problems you need a leader with backbone and an ear for both sides. That does not exist in either party. You need leadership to admit that a certain path is not working and we need to work on a new path. That does not exist either.
On a slightly different topic, a few months ago I asked a simple question: “Do you think that Joe Biden is doing a good job as President?” Simple question which deserved a simple answer. Not surprisingly, the vast majority of my readers said “no”.
The few that answered “Yes”, even though I wanted no caveats or explanations, all came back with some sort of explanation why they chose “yes”. Invariably, the comments ranged around some form of Donald Trump excuse. This once again proved the fact that Joe Biden was elected because he was not Donald Trump. I get it, you look past the successes of the Trump administration because you hate the man. It’s a stupid reason but I get it. Now you back Biden and all of his failures because he is not Donald Trump.
Looking out to 2024, do you vote for Kamala Harris because she is not Donald Trump? Do you vote for a significantly mentally impaired Joe Biden because he is not Donald Trump? Lastly, do you vote for that clown Beto O’Rourke because he is not Donald Trump? The Democrats are in much worse shape than they realize.
