This is a special edition of my Substack and like my opinion on Socialism, this is intractable.
Get out and vote. It is a right that was granted to every legal citizen in this country by the Constitution and we should always exercise that right. Period.
It is how a Democracy works and when people stop voting, Democracy turns into something a much different.
Everyone seems to have an opinion about something in this country. All the whiners will go on Twitter and bitch and moan about everything under the sun. We are becoming a country of complainers. The way I feel, if you don’t vote in every election you should just shut the Hell up. You don’t vote, you have no right to bitch.
If you have an issue with someone in elected office (which everyone does) do something about it. Vote. Get him/her out of office and put someone that will better serve the community. Thats it. It is simple.
We, as American citizens, have the ability to change the course of this country every time we go and vote. It is the most powerful way we have of having our voices heard.
The elections today are very local and this is as important as any state or national election. The people that are running in these local elections are the people that will impact your lives on a daily basis and this is where our voices need to be heard the most.
Call me naive. I don’t care. Call me oblivious. Matters not. I firmly believe that exercising your right to vote is simple and it should be part of your civic duty as a citizen. No excuses.
You want to talk about the political machinations of the electoral process? How Democrats want every living breathing human to vote no matter where they live and citizens of whatever country or how the Republicans want to put onerous restrictions on voting? Save it. You are registered to vote, go vote. Have your voice heard and put a check mark on doing the right thing today.
It’s very disheartening when you look at the options and there aren’t any. What’s the point of voting for judges when they are uncontested? Or anyone for that matter?
