Dissecting Liberal Agenda
It is pretty clear that the Democrats have a new, revised plan on retaining the White House. Give President Trump all the ammunition to win the primaries and become the Republican candidate for the Presidency in 2024.
The more indictments that fall into President Trump’s lap, the better his polling numbers are. Indict him on jaywalking with Melania wearing a Glamour don’t outfit. His numbers increase and the cash flow into his reelection campaign increase.
The Democrats and the media they control want this to happen in a big way. The Democrats, because they feel that a Trump/Biden race will for sure end with President Biden getting reelected. What they will do with a feeble old man with his hands on the trigger one can only guess but it seems they will worry about that when it happens. First things first, “Bring on Trump so we can stomp him!”. That seems to be their rallying cry.
The liberal media establishment wants the race for that reason and for ratings.
Donald Trump sells papers. Donald Trump puts eyes on the TV screen. Trump will be the savior of CNN and MSNBC for sure. He probably will help Fox’s ratings as well and for sure, Newsmax will become a much bigger player in the media landscape.
They all want this to happen because without Trump to pick on, to pick apart, to eviscerate, they are just lousy TV. News organizations with nothing to talk about are doomed and without Donald Trump somewhere in their broadcasts, they only have climate change.
It’s an interesting concept, relying on indictments of a former President to boost ratings and boost his polling numbers and it may just backfire.
How? You ask. No one likes President Trump anymore. He will be an ineffective President if he does get reelected because he will be dealing with multiple charges against him. He will also be 78 when and if he gets reelected. Age will be an issue even though president Trump is still very much the same antagonistic human he has always been. He is still very sharp.
If the Democrats renominate President Biden they might be in for a serious shock. People may vote to reelect Trump just because they dislike and distrust President Biden. His age has become a major factor and with President Trump on the road campaigning like a 50 year old and President Biden in his basement in Delaware, not going out on the road and barely acting as our President, people will see what the choices actually are.
The Democrats will need to upset the Biden applecart and nominate someone else. Gavin Newsome seems to be viable but I think his record in California has been very mixed. The Golden State has lost a lot of it’s shine and this will be an easy target for Republicans to destroy. Kamala Harris. Please. She will get thumped in any debate with Trump. She will be derided by her own people and she will sink back into her rabbit hole once again. The border czar who has not visited the actual border once. Who else do they have? Robert F Kennedy Jr? He is a antagonistic but he might just be to far out there to be considered a contender. Republicans may cross over and vote for him but I’d give him a 10% chance right now. I think Gretchen Whitmer may have a shot but she needs to do something or say something that will bring the media to her doorstep. Pete Buttigieg? Bring him on. My third grade teacher, Mrs. Hall, would have a better chance and besides, he’s an idiot. If, by some chance, he gets the nomination, he will be the worst candidate for President in the history of this country and I would be hard pressed to find any candidate Worldwide worse than him. Oh wait, Beto O’Rourke has been making some stupid sounds in Texas.
I am being a little too harsh but I think you see my point. The Democrats probably have a good strong candidate that can appeal to the core constituency and bring over some independents and anti-Trump Republicans but they haven’t allowed him or her to rise above just yet. I’m thinking that the powers that be in the Democratic party would rather have someone they can manipulate and prop up rather than someone with a backbone and principles.
While I am being a little rough on everyone I think there is a true failure in the Democratic party. That failure lies at President Biden’s feet because he really has to recognize that he can’t win against Father Time and no matter how the White House shields the President from the media (and the media shields the President) his growing fight with old age is out for the World to see. Believe me, the World is watching very closely.
Now for The Trumpster. What we have seen for the last decade or so is that the Republicans are as dysfunctional as the Democrats. Trump won in 2016 for several reasons but one of them was that no one other the Donald Trump had a clear message. He spoke to people on a level that they had never heard before. For three years he actually did a pretty good job and would have been reelected if not for the Pandemic. I, for one, don’t feel that he failed the country but his leadership was a mixed bag when we needed someone who had the will to get stuff done and still be empathetic to what was going on around him. I am not sure any President would have been able to navigate both things so I don’t blame or credit President Trump for what happened. However, the voters did end up blaming him for something that was not in his control and he was not reelected.
Donald Trump is dealing with so many different situations I have to say I will be very surprised if he can run an effective campaign. Getting in front of 20,000 people and just blaming “The Swamp” will not cut it after a couple of times. People will want to hear an agenda, some plan, and there’s a pretty good chance that policy matters will take a back seat to legal matters.
One thing that would throw a major game changing loop is if Donald Trump decides not to run and endorses someone, anyone. The Democrats who have relied on a Biden/Trump battle will lose it and they will fail miserably. Biden can not win against any truly viable Republican candidate and the Democrats know that.
I think that both parties should have a very strong backup plan just in case. The next 10 months may be the most interesting 12 months in US political history.
I can’t wait.
