You ever notice that a lot of my titles are old clichés? Can’t help it. I use what makes the most sense and it just seems these old time clichés make the most sense.
About that horse.
I watched the GOP debate last night for about 12 minutes and realized that I could have spent that time watching the Jersey Shore recap on Instagram and learned more.
This Fiasco 2.1 is no ones fault but the Republicans. It was just a horrible representation of candidates and the fault lies squarely in the laps of Republican movers and shakers.
I have torched Democrats endlessly about the fact that they actually are going to allow Joe Biden to run again. They have legitimate opponents who would track well across a broad spectrum of voters, yet, Joe Biden will be their candidate, again.
That says a lot about politics in the US but what says even more is that the opposition party can’t find an appealing, intelligent challenger to take on the 4 ton bear in the room, Donald Trump.
The state of politics is so bad that believe it or not, the New York Times has devoted considerable space to the ultimate Congressional criminal, Senator Robert Menendez.
I know I know, everyone is innocent until proven guilty either in a court of law or in a Congressional Ethic committee. However, This is not me just rushing to judgement, this guy is the filthiest Congressman in decades. He has been brought up multiple times on different charges and skated but this time, he should be ousted, then rousted, then tossed in jail. Come on, over a half a million dollars in cash and gold hidden in house. Oh wait, I am of Cuban ancestry, thats how we roll. Stop already.
I am seeing a change for the better when looking at the bigger picture as far as the Times is concerned. They spend little to no energy on that shyster, George Santos but yet, they are throwing the full weight of the newspaper against a Democrat, Senator Menendez.
Back to my point. I have asked this question time and time again and it relates to both parties. Why can’t you put up someone worthy of being President? Is it so hard to find a man or woman that can run, maintain some class and dignity and win? Politics has always been a dirty game but there have been candidates in the past that rose above the scrum and presented someone we could be proud of.
I hold up President Jimmy Carter. A good man, a mediocre president. He ran a good clean campaign and his class was always evident. You may have hated either one of the Bushes but make no mistake, they both had class, dignity and humility.
Granted, those three had rough Presidencies but not because they were crooked or ignorant or narcissists. I guess you can’t be a good human and be a good President.
Let’s just look at what the Democrats are doing first. They have no one stepping to the plate, looking to challenge President Biden. You would think that if someone were to want to take that step, they would have done it by now. Hell, the Republicans have been jostling since President Trump lost. Let’s face it, Joe Biden will be running in 2024.
Knowing how bad a candidate he is and how unlikable he has become might be the reason why we have roughly seven million illegal immigrants in this country. Maybe, just maybe, the administration will find a way to move the citizenship process along fast enough to get a good portion of these people on the voter rolls.
This is backfiring by the way. The illegal immigrants are saturating states that are already blue. New York, Illinois, Oregon and California. Maybe they can turn Arizona into a true blue state as well but why add more potential Democratic voters to already Democratic states? Bad tactic and it may turn a blue state red if these potential voters aren’t registered in time.
I know it’s an online conspiracy theory but I do believe their is some truth to it.
Now that circus from last night. It was embarrassing. Not sure who is the most embarrassing candidate up there but I will throw a vote for Chris Christie. Horrible is the only word that comes to mind and I never thought he could fall lower but after last night he has hit rock bottom. What a clown.
My candidate, Vivek Ramaswamy, did little to improve his optics and like the others was just too combative and hardly made any sense. I am falling out of love with him quickly.
Since, I like most Americans, can only have my intelligence insulted for so long, I turned it off and waited for the fair and balanced reporting from the NYTimes and the NYPost to see how it turned out. Surprisingly, I can honestly say that both papers were biased but not overly so. The Times had several reporters rate and comment on the performances and I have to say, I believe them because from little I saw, they were spot on. Maybe there is a sliver of hope at the Gray lady after all.
The Post reported without making a big deal either way about any candidate. This subdued approach is surprising and appreciated for sure.
Maybe I am getting soft in my old age as far as the media is concerned but I am sure my skin will crawl as soon as I read any article about the Denver broncos historic loss to the Miami Dolphins and have the reporter somehow weave climate change into the story.
Great overview of all, enjoyed the read.
